GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment Review

GLAMGLDW Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask Review

The GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment is allegedly a super-duper skin saviour and I was incredibly excited to test it myself. Actually, I am a big fan of masks that are kind of clay-ish since I believe they are most effective to deeply clean the pores and they leave a certain feeling of freshness on the skin. The Supermud Clearing Treatment is also one of these masks. It helps to fight common skin concerns such as redness, scares, adult-acne, spots, blemishes, blackheads, oiliness, razor bumps and in-grown hair. As you can see it is also designed for the gentlemen out there. The mud consistency supports the skin to balance its natural oil balance and frees the skin from any dirt that sits in the pores. A blend of six different acids help to brighten the complexion and leaves the skin smooth and healthy. It works for normal, oily and combination skin. After cleansing you apply a thin layer of the GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment to the clean skin and leave it on for 5 to 20 minutes. The mask dries on the skin and you take it off with warm water.

The packaging feels valuable, the tube is quite heavy and looks, well, somehow hollywood-like, right? The tube contains 34g/1.2fl.oz which is not too much to be honest. GLAMGLOW suggest to use it as a full face mask 1 to 3 times a week but if you do so you need to buy a new mask every month. It also serves as a directed spot treatment.

Let’s start with the scent and consistency. The scent is very interesting for me. As a huge liquorice admirer I love the scent because it reminds me of a giant bag of liquorice 🙂 In a weird way it also smells like a minty toothpaste because of the included mint scent but it doesn’t smell bad at all but rather incredibly fresh. Due to the Eucalyptus aroma it also reminds me of a cough linctus. The consistency is not runny in any way but it is still easy to spread it over the skin. I used a random spatula that I found in my bathroom since this product comes without one. I don’t like to go into the tube with my fingers because first I think it is unhygienic and second my nails are quite long and a lot of product gets stuck under my nails #gross.

Unfortunately I can’t show you before and after pictures because it was impossible for me to leave the mask on my full face for even 1 minute. Instead of reducing redness it is just increasing the redness on my cheeks. On top of that it causes a very unpleasant burn that last for a good hour. The Supermud Clearing Treatment is anything but gentle to the skin and hence I will definitely not use it on my whole face again. I still gave it a second try but this time only on my nose and chin since these parts are the oiliest ones. It stills burns after application but the tingling is bearable for at least 5 minutes. The mask really dries out the pores and they appear very tightly. But it also dries out the skin. I needed a good portion of moisture afterwards. I will end this tube by using it as a spot treatment but I won’t buy it again.

The GLAMGLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment is, in my opinion, only suitable for insensitive combination to oily skin types. If you have this skin condition you may love this mask. The cleaning and tightening performance is fantastic and I can’t say anything negative about this point. I am not sure about normal skin but I guess it might be a little bit too intense as well. For the price of 50€ I expected a great product but I am unfortunately not convinced. There are better products on the market for this purpose.
