Can you believe how fast time flies? Today’s Monday is already the last one this March, spring is here and in basically no time summer knocks on the door. Right in time for warmer temperatures I’d like to present you one of my favorite facial sprays – Lush Tea Tree Water.
Ingredients: Melaleuca Alternofilia Leaf Water (Tea Tree Water), Citrus Paradisi Fruit Water (Grapefruit Water), Junipers Communis Fruit Water (Juniperberry Water), Limonene, Perfume, Methylparaben
Tea tree is renowned for its powerful antibacterial, disinfecting and antiseptic properties and is commonly used to treat spots or acne. The tea tree is native to Australia and has been widely used throughout the last century due to its vast wound healing process. Nowadays you find tea tree in a variety of products, from shampoo to cream or in its purest form, as an oil. However, Lush offers a refreshing toner with the “miracle” ingredient. Besides tea tree the toner is infused with grapefruit which provides the skin with vitamins and it also contains juniper berry which cleans the skin and clears up its complexion. It is perfect for normal, combination and oily skin types.
Since I am dealing with skin impurities (thanks to my hormonal issues!!) and sensitive skin I am super concerned about toners. A lot of toners on the market for acne-prone skin are packed with alcohol or other harsh ingredients. To be honest, Lush face products have never been on my radar since I associate the brand with delicious smelling bath bombs and jelly soaps 🙂 Anyway, the Lush toner made its way into my basket, it was just an unbeatable price of 13,25€ and now I definitely need to thank myself that I have taken it home with me. There is a reason why it is mainly called “water” instead of “toner” – the bottle comes with a spray head and makes the application easy to dose, you don’t need a cotton pad to apply it and you are able to drizzle some Tea Tree Water here and there for a refreshing touch up. Therefore the smaller bottle is perfect to carry around in your bag and the size makes it travel-friendly as well. The smell is soft and pleasant, the refreshing tea tree scent calms me down immediately and revitalizes. I apply it every morning and evening, after cleansing my face. The Tea Tree Water helped me tremendously to keep the oil on my skin controlled during the day and it takes off all the oily excess in the evening. I also see improvement regarding the size of my pores, they appear smaller, especially around the nose. The skin is super clean but also moisturized in a good way since it doesn’t dry out the skin. I recommend it as a setting spray as well, smooths out the make up and keeps it in place all day. It never caused any kind of sensitivity or irritations on my skin. After cleansing, my skin is usually quite red and the Tea Tree Water reduces the redness quickly.
This is only my first bottle (it is almost empty) of the Tea Tree Water and after using it for two month I have to say I love it. If you are looking for a new toner without nasty ingredients you need to try this. This one is not only affective, but you really feel that it is doing something great for your skin. Sometimes you have to go back to basic.
Lush products are free from animal ingredients, cruelty-free, 100% vegan and handmade.
The Tea Tree Water is available in two different sizes, 100ml for 6,95€ or 250ml for 13,25€, buy it here.
