At the end of last year, my skin condition was at its worst and I was in desperate need of effective products to fight a light sort of acne. I had a spot here and there before, of course, but I never had to deal with crazy breakouts spread all over the face. You suddenly start to feel insecure about leaving the house without covering your face with make up and in general, I was very upset about this whole situation. I stumbled across Mario Badescu’s skin care range for acne-prone skin and since I already had some products of the brand’s range which I truly liked, I decided to give it a try. To be honest, I have never experienced it before that I am so convinced and ecstatic by nearly all products of one brand.
“Specially formulated for oily, troubled skin, our effective overnight Buffering Lotion helps clear painful, under-the-skin blemishes while preventing further breakouts. Contains gentle ingredients to normalize skin and help reduce the size of blemishes.”
I use the Buffering Lotion on acute spots and as per description overnight. It reduces redness and calms down painful inflammation caused by pimples. You need to shake it well before you apply it since the tiny little particles settle at the bottom of the bottle. My skin is quite sensitive but still, this works great and vastly shortens the time of each spots inflammation.
“Formulated for troubled complexions, our effective Drying Lotion helps dry out surface blemishes and balance oil in the skin Contains natural ingredients to help draw impurities from the skin.”
The Drying Lotion is definitely a world famous “spot killer” and it is not for nothing, let me tell you that! Suitable for every skin type, it dries out the affected areas thanks to contained salicylic acid and calamine. It is very important to not shake the bottle before you use it since you need to dip a cotton pad into the pink sediment. It is recommended to use the Drying Lotion overnight. This is a product everybody needs to have at home since it is the best and fastest spot treatment ever.
“Our unique blend of ingredients makes this product a must have for acne sufferers to minimize the frequency and severity of breakouts. Thyme Extract incorporates antibacterial and antiseptic properties, while Salicylic Acid helps to dissolve dead skin cells and reduces pore-clogging debris, improving the clarity and texture of the skin.”
The serum is very gentle to the skin and I use it every evening, after cleansing and toning, regardless whether I have a breakout or not, just to prevent any upcoming spots. The Anti Acne Serum helped me a lot to clear up my skin. The bottle is quite small but a little goes a long way.
“Using natural ingredients to help draw blackheads, excess oil, and other impurities from the skin, our Silver Powder is super effective at combating T-zone shine, decongesting pores, and balancing oil in the skin.”
It is like a powder mask and should be used 1-2 times a week. You basically dip a water-dampened cotton pad into the powder and press it to your T-zone, after 10 minutes you take it off with a toner or micellar water. Super easy and fast, yet very effective. The Silver Powder definitely dries out the blackheads and shrinks the pores. As you can see on the picture above the pod is still full of product and I haven’t used it too much by now but so far I am very pleased with the results.
“Hydrate skin while you sleep with our lightweight, oil-free night cream. Elastin, Collagen, and Hyaluronic Acid combine with the vitamins and minerals found in Bladderwrack Extract to nourish dehydrated skin. The result is smooth, dewy, younger-looking skin overnight.”
Well, I consider this cream as a random moisturizer and it does nothing special to your skin. It is not particularly good nor particularly bad which is why I won’t purchase this one again. It is a bit to rich for my skin right now but sometimes I use it as a neck cream.
“Target small, under-the-surface bumps and blemishes.”
The Drying Cream is not only an anti-acne helper, it also covers the affected areas pretty well. It is so frustrating to wake up with a big spot which hurts and starts getting bigger by every second. Even if you cover it with make up it will continue growing. This is when the Drying Cream comes into play. After the moisturizer you simply apply a tiny amount of Drying Cream with your fingers, blend it out and continue with makeup. The Drying Cream prevents the spot from spreading and works anti-inflammatory. This is assuredly one of my favorite products.
“Glycolic Acid and antioxidant rich emollients are the active ingredients in this eye cream that soften and smooth delicate skin and the look of fine lines and wrinkles.”
The texture is indeed very rich and creamy and spends a lot of moisture to the under eye area. I use this cream overnight and it works perfectly as an eye mask as well. Oh and by the way, it has no scent in it at all.
Hyaluronic Eye Cream (not pictured in the photo above since the pod is empty :-))
“Hyaluronic Acid locks in moisture around the delicate eye area keeping it moist and youthful. Non-greasy and lightweight, this absorbent cream is effective for softening dry skin, controlling puffiness and softening the look of fine lines. Ideal for sensitive skin.”
In the morning, I need a lightweight eye cream that sinks in immediately and that works with make up and concealer. The Hyaluronic Eye Cream is definitely one of the fast absorbing eye creams. It works just fine for the night-time as well.
“Once you’ve tried our rejuvenating facial spray, you won’t want to be without it. Use it to set makeup, soothe your skin in dehydrating conditions, or to give your skin a quick boost anytime, anywhere. Lightly mist over face and neck as needed.”
There is only one point about this amazing facial spray that I am not too happy about: you can’t bring it to the plane because it is over 100ml. I love, love, love the smell and the freshness it delivers. I use it basically all the time and particularly for setting makeup.
“Our mild, alcohol free citrus-based toner refreshes and exfoliates leaving skin looking radiant and healthy. Soothing Aloe calms sensitive areas while mineral-rich Seaweed Extract nourishes dull, dry skin.”
I assume it is great for insensitive skin types on a daily basis, unfortunately it is too harsh for my skin to use it every day, even if it’s alcohol free. Now, therefore, I use it occasionally whenever I need a gentle exfoliation, it leaves a really great glow.
“Wash away makeup and surface debris, leaving skin clean and refreshed with our non-foaming gel cleanser. Alpha Hydroxy Acids found naturally in Papaya and Grapefruit gently exfoliate the buildup of dead skin cells that can block pores and cause blemishes. Dull skin looks rejuvenated and healthier.
Uff, this is such a brilliant cleanser. The consistency is indeed very gel-ish and feels a bit firm first but as soon as you warm it up between your hands it turns into a super smooth textured creamy cleanser. The smell is delicate and the cleansing effect is incredibly gentle. Also, the Enzyme Cleansing Gel is suitable for all skin types.
Special Healing Powder (pictured in the very first picture)
“Formulated for oily, troubled skin, our gentle Sulfur-based powder helps fight T-zone shine, decongest pores, and balances oil in the skin.”
The Special Healing Powder is a loose, translucent, paraben free setting powder. I use a small setting brush (it comes with a small make-up sponge) to apply it to the problem areas. I figured out that a combination of the Special Healing Powder and the Drying Cream is unbeatable, it stops every spot from breaking out.
The products are NOT tested on animals.
If you are looking for effective products for reasonable prices and don’t want to pay for super fancy packaging, you should check out this brand.
